Charles Griswold
A partner in the firm of Griswold and Sohl, his firm made all the components for carriages, an industry of national significance centered in Columbus. He married Mary Jane Price and together with her father and brother developed “Arlington Place”. The YWCA, known as the Griswold Building, was built as a memorial to him by his wife. She donated $400,000 (the equivalent of $3.8 million) in his memory in 1926.
