Marble Cliff train station (left) and Post Office(right) circa 1901, looking southwest from the intersection of the tracks and 5th Avenue. The Prices and Mr. Griswold sold the land to the railroad in 1889 for “$1 and other considerations.” Prior to the development of street cars the availability and proximity of the RR Station promoted development of summer homes in the area. The trip from the city took 20 minutes.. This site is currently occupied by Columbia Gas. From the “Columbus Sunday Press” November 17, 1901.
